Burial & Scattering Ashes at Sea
Up-dated
20/08/2010

It is becoming increasingly common for people to wish to have their ashes scattered at sea, either due to a general love of the sea, religious reasons or from a past association with the sea. We offer this service throughout the year from Eastbourne, Sovereign Harbour Marina.

Environment considerations
No license or special permission is required to scatter ashes at sea. However, we do request that only bio-degradable items are placed in the sea as tributes. Items that are not suitable are things such as the urn (which should be disposed of separately), wreaths made of plastic etc. as they can have a damaging impact on the environment and marine wildlife.
