Survey of the Royal Sovereign Tower

Charter Scope

To position Sussex in a static position as close as possible to the Royal Sovereign Tower (NE Side 17m and SW Side 30m) to enable a structural survey of the submerged tower collar and supporting foundations 30m x 30m base, and the collection of seabed samples. The predominant sea conditions at the time were SW 17 to 20, gusting to 24 knots

Survey Data
Sussex is equipped with a 3D seabed mapping system, which records the seabed depth and enables a virtual 3D image to be created that can be viewed from any angle, from 100m above to seabed. The data is updated in real time via GPS satellites.
